Former VENOM Members Reunite For Newcastle Performance; Video Available
October 2, 2009DRYLL (formerly DRILL),the U.K.-based band featuring former VENOM guitarist and founding member Jeff "Mantas" Dunn, performed at Jeff Fest on Thursday, September 17 at Trillians Rock Bar, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England. The charity-based event was held in memory of well-known and loved Newcastle rock DJ Little Jeff who made a big impact on the rock scene at the likes of the world famous Newcastle Mayfair club which used to play host to the likes of IRON MAIDEN, MOTÖRHEAD and METALLICA, to name but a few.
For this gig, DRYLL was joined by bassist Craig Elliott (formerly of DEF-CON-ONE) and none other than Antony "Antton" Lant of DEF-CON-ONE and recently also of VENOM. This was the first time Mantas and Antton played live together for almost 10 years since touring VENOM's "Resurrection" album.
Video footage of DRYLL — featuring Antony "Antton" Lant on drums — performing the VENOM classic "Black Metal" at the Trillians gig can be viewed below.
Antton — who is the brother of VENOM frontman Conrad "Cronos" Lant — left VENOM in April in order to concentrate on his own band, DEF-CON-ONE.
